Professor Curtis's Predictions for the Year 2012!
Professor Curtis Presents; The Chronicles of A Flea Marketeer
I am Professor Curtis, a local Freelancing Flea Marketeer.
You can find me selling at the Berkeley Flea Market at the Ashby Bart Station in Berkeley, CA.
The Alemany (San Francisco) Flea Market,
The Treasure Island Flea (On Treasure Island)
and the Alameda Point Antiques Faire in Alameda, CA.
I sell Man Cave collectibles, vintage memorabilia, collectible creations,
curios and odd books.
My first independent selling experience was at the Berkeley Flea Market in 1987.
Once I began to turn a profit, I was hooked!
In 1990, I moved to a storefront.
The name of the shop was, Professor Curtis Presents; Famous Cult Videos.
I created a video store because odd videos were my best selling items.
Frankly, I had a lot of fun, met many good people and I felt really important
as a Black store owner within my own community, but it was just too much STRESS!
The shop had three complete incarnations in 10 years.
If it were not for my good buddies;
Guitar Knoll,Will the Thrill, Tak, Devil Doll, Chris T., Cosmic Rey, Up Chuck, and Kid Jericho,
I never would have survived it.

all coincidences of time and space, I found myself returning to the things
that I really love to do, wheeling and dealing at the Flea Markets.
the new and increasing customer base, the new status of the
Flea Market in the community and the effects of the
current financial down-turn and how it has affected us all.
and the last stand of the American people are happening in
the same place. That place is the public markets, where life, actual
knowledge and raw emotions are as publicly revealed as
the neighbors dirty laundry. At the Flea Market, stupid really is as stupid does.
In other words, you will either get ripped off, reasonably satisfied
or you will emerge as a winner.
Are you giving away your collectibles for pennies because of
a lack of knowledge or out of a desperate need for money because you
are selling your precious items to the wrong customer base?
Are you selling your collectibles to professional buyers and
hard-core hagglers? Did you know that there are Websites
instructing buyers "how to haggle you down" on your prices?
Be encouraged. Professor Curtis is here to tell it like it is!

It was an experience simular to a Black Firday event. More to come...
